The preschool children really were fascinated with all of the exciting things going on in our science area this week. As we do every year we watch the complete metamorphosis of the butterfly. We started off with the eggs and the kids were shocked at how small they were, the next step was the larva then the pupa. As the butterflies hung in their butterfly pavilion the kids waited anxiously for them to be free, and soon one by one were coming out. The next thing was to set our butterflies free, there were some brave ones that enjoyed holding them until they flew away. That was such an interesting week!! |
